1. Headline policy
- Free cancellation up to 48 hours before the scheduled pickup or service start time — full refund to the original payment method.
- Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled pickup are non-refundable.
- Same-day bookings are non-refundable after the booking is confirmed.
- If IceFleet / FONDO ehf. cannot provide the booked service for any reason, you receive a full refund.
- Refunds are processed back to the original payment method whenever possible.
2. How to cancel
To cancel a booking, contact us as early as possible at info@icefleet.is, by phone/WhatsApp at +3548923392, or via the Contact page, quoting your booking reference and customer name.
3. Refund processing
- Approved refunds are normally issued within 5–10 business days of confirmation, depending on your bank or card issuer.
- Refunds are issued in the original currency (ISK). Any currency conversion differences are determined by your bank and are outside our control.
- Where a refund to the original payment method is not technically possible (e.g. expired card), we will arrange an alternative method such as a bank transfer.
4. No-shows & late arrivals
Customers who do not arrive at the agreed pickup location and time, and do not contact us within a reasonable grace period, are treated as no-shows and are not eligible for a refund. Where a flight is delayed and you have provided the flight number, we will reasonably accommodate the delay at no extra cost.
5. Weather, road closures & force majeure
If we cancel or cannot operate a service due to weather, road conditions, natural events, or other reasons outside our control, we will offer either a free reschedule or a full refund — your choice.
6. Partial services
If a service is started but cannot be completed for reasons attributable to us, we will refund the proportionate value of the unused portion. If interruption is due to weather or force majeure, refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis.
7. Rentals — vehicle damage & deposits
For self-drive rentals, refunds do not cover charges for damage, traffic fines, missing fuel, late returns, or excessive cleaning, in line with your rental agreement. Any applicable damage charges are deducted before refund.
8. Disputes
If you disagree with a refund decision, please contact us first at info@icefleet.is. Nothing in this policy limits your statutory rights as a consumer under Icelandic law.
